From cart to your door.
Add items to your cart and check out each store separately. You pay TradeSafe by card, Instant EFT or EFT, and the seller is told to prepare your order once TradeSafe confirms the payment.
Each store is its own order with its own payment, so each seller is only paid for what they sent you — and one late parcel never holds up the others.
Each seller delivers and sets their own delivery fee, shown before you pay. Some charge less, or nothing, on bigger orders; your cart shows how close you are to cheaper delivery.
Open My orders. Every step is recorded, and once the seller dispatches you will see the courier and tracking reference they entered.
Your money is held until you are happy.
For shop orders, into escrow at TradeSafe, a regulated South African escrow provider. MAIZU never holds your money, and the seller cannot touch it yet. Food from kitchens works differently: see below.
When you tap "Yes, I received it" on your order page. If the seller marks it delivered and you don't confirm or report a problem within 24 hours, TradeSafe pays the seller. Reporting a problem before then stops the payment.
Tap "I haven't received it" and tell us what happened. The payment stays in escrow while we review, and you are refunded if the seller cannot show it was delivered.
We email you as soon as the seller marks it delivered, and remind you. If you don't confirm or report a problem within 24 hours of that, the order is treated as received and the seller is paid.
Kitchens are paid through TradeSafe as soon as you pay, so they can start cooking straight away. If your food doesn't arrive or isn't what you ordered, tap "I haven't received it" on your order. Kitchens must refund food that doesn't arrive or isn't what was ordered; MAIZU takes it up with the kitchen for you, and kitchens that don't refund are removed.
Open a store in minutes.
Open your store, add your payout account with TradeSafe, and list your first products. Your store is open as soon as you create it: there's no approval to wait for. Buyers can buy from you once your payout account and first product are in place.
So TradeSafe can pay you directly. Your full bank details and ID number go to TradeSafe; MAIZU only keeps your bank name, the last four digits and how you chose to be paid.
You choose on the Payouts page: straight away, once a week, or once a month into your bank, or kept in your TradeSafe wallet so you can withdraw whenever you want. TradeSafe charges R5 (plus VAT) for each payout or withdrawal; once a month is free. You can change your choice at any time.
Confirm it, prepare it, add the courier and tracking, and dispatch. The buyer confirms receipt and TradeSafe pays you.
MAIZU's models check every store each night (Insights → Looking ahead). They forecast your sales for this week and the next 3 once you've been open 8 full weeks with sales in at least 4; show your cash outlook once you've entered your cash on hand in the Business Passport in the last 60 days; list your regular bills once you've recorded the same bill (rent, wages, electricity and water, data and airtime) twice; and give a health score after 120 days. Until then you see what's still needed. MAIZU is new, so the models first learned from synthetic stores built from a large marketplace like MAIZU, and work from your own record. They're estimates, not promises.
Yes. Once you've recorded a regular bill at least twice, MAIZU emails you 7 days before it's usually paid, and tells you if your cash looks tight for that day. These are your own bills; MAIZU has no monthly store fee.
Simple and on the order.
Opening a store and listing are free. You keep 90% of the product price of every sale; MAIZU's 10% pays for safe payments through TradeSafe, Buyer Protection and getting your store found. Your delivery fee goes to you in full.
The seller carries TradeSafe's processing fee. It is shown on each order so you always see exactly what you received.
No. The rate is saved on the order when it is placed, so a future change never affects a past sale.
Stay protected.
Never. If you pay outside MAIZU — by EFT, cash or a payment link — there is no escrow and no way for us to help. The order room blocks attempts to move payment off the platform.
Keeping conversations on MAIZU means we can see what was agreed if something goes wrong. Phone numbers, emails and payment links are blocked automatically.
Every store must have a TradeSafe payout account before buyers can pay it. MAIZU's risk checks flag unusual stores and orders for the team to look at, and the team can suspend a store at any time. Every suspension is recorded with a reason.
Wrong, damaged or missing.
Do not confirm receipt. Open the order and tap "I haven't received it", or contact us with photos, within 24 hours of the seller marking it delivered. The funds stay in escrow while we review.
You can cancel from the order page until the seller dispatches. A paid shop order is refunded in full through TradeSafe straight away. A paid food order can be cancelled until the kitchen accepts it; the kitchen then refunds you. Unpaid orders are cancelled automatically after 48 hours (2 hours for food).
Use the contact form below and choose "Report a listing or store". Include a link to the listing.
A person replies within two working days, Mon–Fri 08:00–17:00 SAST. For an order, the fastest route is the order room on your order page.
