Payments & escrow
How money moves on MAIZU. The short version: for shop orders TradeSafe holds the money until the buyer confirms receipt (or raises no problem within 24 hours of delivery); kitchens are paid when the buyer pays.
Who holds the money
TradeSafe Escrow holds every shop payment from the moment it clears until the buyer confirms receipt. Food orders from kitchens are paid through TradeSafe Relay: the kitchen receives the payment, less MAIZU's commission and TradeSafe's fee, as soon as the buyer pays. MAIZU has no wallet or balance and never holds customer funds.
Payment methods
Card (Visa, Mastercard), Instant EFT and EFT, processed on TradeSafe's secure pages. MAIZU never sees your card details.
When an order counts as paid
Only when TradeSafe reports the funds as received. A payment that is pending, failed or only deposited does not count, and MAIZU re-checks every notification directly with TradeSafe.
Release to the seller
Shop orders: when the buyer confirms receipt, TradeSafe pays the seller. When the seller marks an order delivered, the buyer has 24 hours to confirm it or report a problem; if they do neither, TradeSafe pays the seller. If the buyer reports a problem, the funds stay in escrow until MAIZU decides it. Kitchen orders are paid at checkout; problems are handled as set out in the Food rules.
Fees
Buyers pay the item price and the store's delivery fee. Nothing else. Sellers pay a 10% commission on the product value only (never on delivery) and TradeSafe's processing fee. Rates are recorded on each order when it is placed, so a later change never affects an existing order.
